No matter how much you love your job, office can be highly tiring at times. Long meetings, pitches, boss’ ranting, client screaming – everything seems to take a toll. And after the backlash of a long day, comes the evening when you don’t feel like going out, meeting someone or even be around any human for long. At this time your kitchen and the ingredients available become your BFF! Here are a few things you can make at home to unwind the long day, happily!

1.       Sandwiches or Subs – This is certainly one the best options and is quite filling too. Plus you have the independence to own the dish in a unique way! You can either prepare a healthy sub or sandwich using fresh veggies, jalapenos or olives, or a sinfully delicious one with chicken tikka or aloo and pea patty, veggies, with cheese slices and sauce.

2.       Caramel Popcorn – Tune in your favourite sitcom or switch on a movie, pull up a blanket and munch on caramel popcorn or salted popcorn. You can easily make them at home, or buy them from a supermarket chain.

3.       Salad – For all those who keep a tab on their diet, salads is the perfect choice. Toss your favourite veggies with croutons and choicest dressings such as southwest, barbecue or honey mustard salad dressing, healthy snack it ready!

5.       Pizzas – Pizzas are the answer to everything, who cares what the question is! An Italian beauty in its true form, pizzas with shredded mozzarella, capsicums, onions, baby corn, olives and pizza sauce in India are pure love! It is definitely the best way to unwind a long day.

Cook and have delicious treats on New Year’s Eve

New Year’s just around the corner and everyone’s in full power decked up to celebrate the New Year in full zest with their loved ones.  Many of us indulge in festive sit down luncheons at home or splurge on lavish meals at the fully lit restaurants around the city.

No matter how creative all restaurants get with their menu, they are extremely crowded at the time of New Year’s Eve. So the better option is to organize a grand feast at home and have a gala party time!

Keep away from the boring dishes and spruce up some delectable NYE exclusive treats for all. We narrowed down our favourites. They are simple and nice. And will be devoured by all. Let us take a look and find out-

1.The good old chicken: The trick to have chicken is to marinate it for good 3 hours before finally baking/ frying/ roasting. What you include in your marinating batter makes the difference to the taste pallate. Don’t forget to mix in copious amounts of condiments in the batter like olive oil mayonnaise, recipe of which can be found on the internet. Season it with good herbs and pepper. Have cheese toasted bread on the sides.

2.Fried stuff: Fried stuff will always be a game up! None says no to it at the time of New Year Evening fiesta. Keep diversity of options to for everyone to gorge on. fry some spicy onion rings that tastes best with sweet chilli sauce, chicken wings, nachos with cheesy dips, kababs and margherita pizzas; to name a few.

New Year is all about new beginnings and expanding our knowledge. Cook your meals differently this year, sit down with very good, luscious and fizzy wines like chardonnay around the table and bid adieu to 2016 in style. Have a fabulous year ahead!

5 Snacks You Can Eat While Commuting

Every day we strive hard to keep ourselves out there in the market, to save our jobs and to pay the bills. In this fast paced life, we have kept ourselves updated with every single detail on one hand, but on the other hand we have compromised on essentials. Eating breakfast is very important and yet we do not find time to sit down properly and enjoy a meal to the fullest.

To every black cloud there is a silver lining! So what is we cannot sit and eat on some days? Here are 5 items you can eat on the go –

1.Wraps or Rolls – One of the most convenient items to be consumed while travelling. Roll up a chapatti or bread with choicest fillings such as cheese, Greek feta, peri peri hummus, iceberg lettuce, chicken, low fat mayo, peppers, potatoes, onions and top it over with Thousand Island dressing India. Make it a tightly rolled wrap so that fillings do not fall out of them.

2.Bun Omlette or Bun Maska – Fry a bun in butter and cut into two halves. Spruce it up with jam, extra butter or an omelette – whatever delights your taste buds. Let the two worlds mingle into one in your mouth.

3.Calzone Pockets – Who hates Pizzas? We love eating it at any point and hour in life, but eating them while commuting is a big no. so how about trying their covered substitute? Doughy on outside, with cheesy, tangy fillings on inside, calzone is definitely your commute buddy.

4.Parathas – Because there can be no dish as filling as this one. Considered as our national breakfast, especially in the Northern states it is undoubtedly the best breakfast option. Stuff them up with potatoes, onion, cauliflower, peas or cottage cheese with pickle or chutneys smeared all over and roll them tightly.

5.Sandwiches – Yet again a simple, filling and a delightful option for the taste buds. You can make it as healthy or cheesy you want – choice is all yours. Fill up the sandwich with freshly cut veggies, salt and pepper with mint mayonnaise sauce. Recipe would be readily available on internet.
